mortgage shortfall?

Many people find themselves being asked to pay large sums by their mortgage lender after they have been repossessed or have handed in the keys on their house. Often people think that once they have left the house their liability ends. However, this is not the case if the house is sold for less than the outstanding mortgage. The debt that remains is usually referred to as a mortgage shortfall. This also include s the monthly installments and interest that has been added on to the debt until the house is sold, plus legal and estate agent's costs. You can still be asked to pay back a shortfall a long time after you left the house as mortgage lenders may try to pursue a shortfall debt up to twelve years afterwards. See below for details of when the time starts running.

Mobile Marketing

Orange has launched Social Life, a mobile social networking aggregator which brings together activity on Facebook, MySpace and Bebo in one place. Accessible from Orange’s mobile Internet portal,Orange World, Social Life allows customers to view and post updates and get in touch with friends and family across all three social networks at the same time, through a single log-in.
Available to all Orange mobile customers, the Social Life home screen allows users to:
upload photos; update their status;keep track of friends’ status updates from all three leading social networks; view social network notifications, including messages, events, pokes and friend requests; and send and receive messages.
Customers have full control over which information they provide to each of their social networks – they can update their status and upload photos to some or all of them through the Social Life home screen. Social Life also enables users to keep on top of social network activity through SMS, with the ability to set up free text alerts on specific social network activity, and to send updates via text message. All Social Life SMS alerts are free for pay-as-you-go and pay-monthly customers. Texts sent by customers to update their status are included in the customer’s text bundle if they have one, or charged at their usual rate.
Orange says that while the service initially offers access to Facebook, Bebo and MySpace, it will look to incorporate more social networks and Web 2.0 sites in 2009.
Orange says its focus on mobile social networking is bearing fruit, with the most recent Orange Digital Media Index revealing a 129% increase in monthly page impressions and a 48% increase in monthly unique users for social networking sites.
Orange has also announced the launch of Orange Widget Player, a customisable interface which provides fast access to useful content and favourite applications from the Orange home screen on Orange Signature devices. Using Widget Player, customers can instantly access news, weather and sport updates, along with applications such as search, Wikipedia, a world clock and others from a widgets catalogue that will grow throughout 2009. Currently available on the Nokia 6303, Widget Player will be rolled out on further devices through the course of 2009.
“With Social Life and Widget Player we’re making it simple for customers to manage their favourite content, applications and social networks at the touch of a button,” says Orange UK Head of Product Management, Mark Watts-Jones. “Over time, we will be looking to add more sites to the service - helping users to stay in touch in touch with the people and content that matters most to them.”

Higher Gas = Lower Insurance Premiums ?

A recent survey reveals that in general, people are driving less which normally means fewer car accidents and injuries. With skyrocketing prices of gasoline, people are continually finding ways to save on gas like the invention of hybrid cars. People are now using public transportation systems or combining trips and car pooling instead of driving. All of these mean lesser cars, lesser mileage, lesser accidents and lesser insurance premiums. When people drive less, they will be in a lesser number of accidents which means lesser injuries and lesser injury payments. This is one of the reasons why more insurance providers give lower premiums for less mileage. So drive less, for more insurance premium discounts!

Cellphone Safety

Many countries around the globe have banned the use of cellular phones while a vehicle is in motion and for one very good reason, the amount of accidents related to cell use has grown considerably as more and more people use them on the roads. Being one of the most accident prone modes of transport, it has become more dangerous with the advent of the mobile phone. Car insurance also followed suit for being a violation of the law, coverage can be denied if an accident is found to be related to cellular use.
Increasing the accident rate to around 50% and likened to drunk driving due to the amount of distraction the driver gets from use, it is blamed for many deaths and the toll is rising day by day as people continue to irresponsibly use their mobile phones while driving. For safety’s sake, drive to a stop or get to the island if one has to use a mobile, the life you save can be yours. Make it a rule to avoid using it while driving or better yet, use the voice mailbox using a message stating that you are driving and that safety is the main priority, Keep safe, buckle-up and hands-off that mobile.

Auto Insurance

In terms of rates that is, for many people have been unable to acquire the necessary funds to get affordable auto insurance. This is to answer calls of consumers and the government alike for businesses to do all they can to help them as the economy gets worse. More job cuts are predicted and the stock markets are not faring any better. The rate freeze is with select insurance providers only so don’t get too thrilled, just hope the place where you live in has one of these few firms.
The huge majority of insurance companies have already imposed hikes on rates along with protection for themselves in case their clients get in trouble with uninsured drivers. This has grown into a ballooning problem for them for even with their clients having enough coverage, the opposing party might not leaving them with nothing to gain from such incidents but loss of fulfilling their obligations with clients. There has been some outcry on the moves which have been implemented in silence without too much advertising of such.

Car insurance is important

Even with the economic recession coming into play, it is still important to avail yourself of a car insurance policy. It pays to have a safety net in case of any accidents or other expenses that might cost you more in the long run had you opted to pay for them yourself. Having an insurance plan helps you guard against emergency spending – which will often turn out to be a hefty amount to be shelled out all at once at single given time.

Mesothelioma Lawyers

Deciding to pursue legal recourse and selecting an attorney to represent you in a mesothelioma or asbestos lawsuit are important decisions that should be made carefully. I have seen some families receive $500,000 and others be awarded nearly $30 million. I have seen some lawyers reject a case only to have another firm accept it and make a big success of it. And I have seen some families wait nearly three years to receive their first check while others received large checks within three months of filing a claim. The main reasons for these differences are the facts of the patient's situation and the law firm chosen.

Mesothelioma patient files lawsuit, calls for more asbestos-related research

After George Winterton visited his doctor complaining of difficulty breathing, he was told he likely had hay fever and was encouraged to return in two weeks for a follow up examination. Less than six months later Winterton learned he had mesothelioma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer caused almost exclusively by asbestos exposure.

Winterton, 67, says his mesothelioma symptoms progressed rapidly and he went from feeling “slightly out of breath to not being able to walk up the stairs” within a two week time frame following his first doctor’s visit. After an emergency X-ray revealed that one of his lungs collapsed, Winterton said he “had a horrible fear” that he developed malignant mesothelioma after watching friends suffer from the same disease.

When his doctor informed him of his diagnosis, Winterton said, “It was like being hit in the stomach with a steam train. It knocked every bit of life out of me.” Though his prognosis was poor, Winterton said he has a seventh grandchild on the way to wait for and is trying to remain positive.

Winterton also notes the importance of research related to asbestos-related disease, stating, “Mesothelioma needs its own funding and research. It should not be lumped in with other cancers. Scientists have made wonderful strides with breast and prostate cancer and I believe mesothelioma needs the same level of attention.”

Liz Darlison, Nurse Consultant for the Mesothelioma UK Support Group, echoes his sentiment. “Without research, we will never get anywhere. We have got a moral obligation to do something centrally through Government. These people were building our nation when they were exposed and to abandon them would be a crime,” Darilson said.

Winterton says he was exposed to the asbestos that caused the development of his disease while working for Donaldson & Finch, now Vinaflex Manufacturing, from 1966 through 1977. Winterton worked with machines wrapped with asbestos fabric that became worn and frayed and, overtime, allowed asbestos particle to enter the air where anyone nearby could inhale or ingest them into the body.

“My exposure must have been minimal but, apparently, that does not matter. The smallest amount is enough. I did not think it was a dangerous job,” said Winterton. He has since filed a lawsuit and is seeking damages for his development of mesothelioma.

Secured loan calculator News

Feel free to use our interactive secured loan calculator. Before deciding to apply for a loan some homeowners find it useful to understand the approximate cost of borrowing in terms of the monthly cost and the interest which is being charged. This is especially useful for homeowners who work to a monthly budget by knowing what their outgoings are such as household bills and mortgage payments versus income received.

To use the loan calculator simply enter the amount you wish to borrow and select a repayment period using the drop down menu. Then enter the interest rate and press the calculate button. The results are calculated using the generic compound interest formulae and show the monthly repayment and the monthly interest charged by the lender. For comparison purposes, which some find useful, an alternative monthly repayment figure is displayed below assuming an interest rate of 5.5% is charged.

Nokia Surge to come to Europe

Responding to criticism that the company pays too much attention to the European market, via the likes of the E72 and N97, and far too little to the USA, the company initially released its Surge phone into the latter territory first. Now the Surge, which is also known as the 6760, will be released into the European market during the third quaerter of this year for €199. Initially available in black but with white and red versions to come later, the handset, which will ba based on the S60 operating system, will provide immediate access to Google Talk, Windows Live Instant Messaging, Twitter, Facebook and MySpace along with support for several email services, plus Mail for Exchange and Message Reader, according to the Nokia Conversations website.

Specifications include 2.4in QVGA display, A-GPS for location and, notably, a 3.2-megapixel camera (the US-version only had a 2-megapixel model)

QWERTY-enabled Nokia 6760 slide to hit Europe

Nokia Surge went on sale a couple of days ago and now we hear about its European brother - the Nokia 6760 slide. The main update that the 6760 has got concerns its camera, which now has 3 megapixel resolution instead of 2MP. The lack of carrier branding pretty much rounds up the rest of the differences.

The Nokia 6760 slide, just like the Nokia Surge is a Symbian-powered, side-slider with a full QWERTY keyboard and 3.6Mbps HSDPA. There's quad-band GSM support and the local connectivity is covered by Bluetooth, microUSB and a 2.5 mm audio jack.

The AT&T Navigator is replaced with Nokia maps and the phone is packed to the brim with messaging software. Nokia Messaging, Google Talk, Windows Live IM are there right out of the box and the 6760 slide will give you easy access to social-media favorites such as Facebook, Twitter and MySpace.

The feature list of the 6760 is completed by 128 MB of internal memory, expandable by up to 8GB through the microSD card slot (2GB one provided), as well as FM radio. Standby time is the respectable 500 hours with 5 hours of talk time.

The Nokia 6760 slide will be available in Q3 2009 for 199 euro before subsidies and taxes. Initially it will only be available in black, with red and white versions coming soon after that (though not everywhere it seems).

Mobile World Congress review - Playing it safe

The black suits were back, and the show was very business focused, serious even. And Mobile Europe had its team looking out for the most important news across the industry - from network equipment to application development

The main vendors and LTE:
At MWC, tier one vendors faced a difficult balancing act of pleasing MNOs with widely diverging network development plans, kick-starting the network upgrade cycle to recover considerable investments into OFDM/MIMO technologies, and showing investors their optimised product portfolios that could be supported at lower cost.

As a result, the Big Four vendors - Ericsson, Huawei, Alcatel-Lucent and Nokia Siemens Networks - moved in a tight pack announcing their strategies to deliver end to end 4G portfolios, showing technical readiness to launch LTE and demonstrating converged RAN products, some of which were announced in the weeks leading up to WMC.

Ericsson exhibited the Evolved Packet Core portfolio for LTE and next-generation broadband, including SGSN/MME and Mobile Packet Gateway - software upgrades for the existing SGSN and GGSN - as well as Converged Packet Gateway. At the same time, it announced HSPA network upgrades to 28Mbps for TIM Italy and trials of 42Mbps HSPA speeds with Telstra. NokiaSiemens Networks demonstrated LTE interoperability between its recently launched multi-radio Flexi Base Station and Qualcomm's terminal technology, while Huawei showed off its unified LTE FDD/TDD solution.
Alcatel-Lucent stepped back in the game after Verizon's announcement that it chose ALU and Ericsson as its two vendors for the initial LTE rollout in the US. In Barcelona, ALU launched a new LTE software module of the node B, already trialled by a Tier 1 MNO and on general availability from mid-2009. It also completed a series of calls over LTE TDD on LG's devices.

Student Mobile Loans

he mobile phones presently have come to play a key role in the aspect of promoting the aspect of loan facilities which can be availed of through mobiles as well. Currently the mobile phones play a key role in not only adding colors to our lives but at the same time they make our life more and more comfortable as people can keep in touch with each other from any part of the world and they don’t have to necessarily stay at home to call up at your required destinations. Presently these facilities offered by the mobile phones are equally availed by the students for taking student mobile loans.
Students can take loans from the banks for further studies and educational aspects conveniently through mobile phones as they contact the various banks and financial institutes through mobile phones and the amount of loan that the concerned person wants to take gets fixed up through the mobile phone only and the person doesn’t also have to go to the bank for letting the bank officials know about the amount of loan the student wants to take.

The various educational courses starting from MBA to other educational and research based courses which needs one to go abroad tend to charge students differently and for most people who can’t afford to make total down payment of cash from their savings they need to take student loans and when they arrange for student loans through mobile phones its more precisely termed as student mobile loans. Other than calling up from the mobile phones to the banking and financial organizations one can also opt for the facility of sending a short message better known as the short message service or SMS in particular to just inform the particular bank about the amount of loan you want to take for the purposes of further education. Most people who unfortunately can’t find enough time to visit the bank or the financial institutions either due to their jobs or for their educational timings they tend to contact the banking or financial institutions through messages from their mobiles instead of meeting the bank officials in person.

The various student mobile loans are technically not different from those loans availed of by those who indulge in the loan taking operations in person and in fact the methods of student loans taken through mobiles tend to differ from one bank to another. But the most prominent method would be to send a message to the bank from your mobile stating about the amount of loan you want to take inclusive of your bank account number if you can’t come down personally to fulfill the formalities with the bank. In fact another method that greatly promotes the aspect of student mobile loans is the time when the banking and financial institutions tend to contact the students on their mobile phones asking about their need to take student loans through mobile phones. Know more about the student mobile loans as you browse through Loanonmobiles.com.

Mobile Loans

Money is the most important thing for human being on earth. Without money it is very difficult for one to survive. You may live without clothes and shelter but as a human being you cannot survive without foods and that's where you need money. You need money to buy your clothes and you need money to make a home for your own. But there are millions and millions of people who do not have enough bank balance to buy a property like a house or an automobile vehicle. You might also be apart of that group of people who are capable of investing money from the existing bank balance to buy a property. However you don't need to worry if that is the case because there are companies from whee you can get loan for fulfilling your dream or need.
To capitalize on the huge demand for money, thousands of companies have come up across the world to offer financial assistance to people. You can contact the representative of any such company in person or in phone. There are several companies from whom you can get loans simply by doing the formalities through mobile phone. The process of sanctioning loans though the operation of mobile phones is said to be mobile loans.

Mobile loans or getting loan through the operation of mobile phones is one of the newest financial concepts and has been widely accepted by people. Speaking about mobile loans it has to be mentioned here that Applying for loan and getting it sanctioned by mobile phones is a very simple. You just need to contact the company from where you are planning to take the loan. You can contact the representative of the company by calling him or her in the corporate telephone connection or in his or her personal mobile number. You may even send him or her an SMS and wait for your call. The person will surely call you up and will fix an appointment with you in person. And if it is not possible for you to meet each other the entire formalities could be completed through mobile phone.

This is the biggest advantage of mobile loans. You don't need to go the company's office and talk with the representative. When the representative calls you back he or she will ask you to give some financial and personal details for verification. You will be asked to disclose the amount you draw as salary per month or the other sources of income if any. It is very much necessary because after making some calculations, the representative of the company will tell you the amount of money you are entitled to get. As everything is happening through the operation of mobile phones you will have to fulfill the formalities through SMS.
