Nokia Surge to come to Europe

Responding to criticism that the company pays too much attention to the European market, via the likes of the E72 and N97, and far too little to the USA, the company initially released its Surge phone into the latter territory first. Now the Surge, which is also known as the 6760, will be released into the European market during the third quaerter of this year for €199. Initially available in black but with white and red versions to come later, the handset, which will ba based on the S60 operating system, will provide immediate access to Google Talk, Windows Live Instant Messaging, Twitter, Facebook and MySpace along with support for several email services, plus Mail for Exchange and Message Reader, according to the Nokia Conversations website.

Specifications include 2.4in QVGA display, A-GPS for location and, notably, a 3.2-megapixel camera (the US-version only had a 2-megapixel model)
