Mobile video-conferencing on notebooks and handhelds will become a popular application in future. With 3G wireless networks and wireless broadband, it will become economical to connect this from anywhere to anywhere.
Toshiba and Winnov Inc. (a Silicon Valley startup), have been working on a portable videoconferencing systems into the mobile industry. Both of these companies are building their systems around Type 2 PC cards, but have different software approaches for their respective systems.
